Terms of use.
Last updated: April 2026
Short version: we publish guides, you read them, you decide what to do, and we do not promise that what you read here is right for your situation. The longer version follows.
Not legal, financial, or medical advice
Nothing on LovingPlan is legal advice, financial advice, insurance advice, tax advice, or medical advice for your specific situation. We are not a law firm, an insurance broker, a financial advisor, or a medical practice. We are an editorial site that explains common end-of-life paperwork and decisions in plain language. State laws vary and change. For decisions that matter, please consult a licensed professional in your state.
If you act on something you read here without consulting a professional, that is your decision to make as an adult. We do our best to be accurate. We will not promise we are.
Provider matching
When you fill in a form asking to be matched with a provider, we forward your details to providers we have vetted. The match is a recommendation, not an endorsement of any specific outcome. Your relationship with the provider — the contract you sign, the service you receive, the price you pay — is between you and them. We are not party to that relationship. We do not guarantee the provider's work, pricing, or behavior.
That said, if a provider in our network treats you poorly, we want to know. Email hello@lovingplan.com with the details and we will investigate. We have removed providers from our network for poor customer outcomes before, and we will again.
Acceptable use
Use the site as a reasonable person would. Don't scrape it, don't try to break into it, don't submit fake leads, don't use any of our content commercially without permission. If you'd like to syndicate or quote a guide for an article or class, email us.
Intellectual property
Site content (guides, layout, images) is © LovingPlan unless explicitly attributed otherwise. You may quote up to 200 words with attribution and a link back to the source page. Larger excerpts require written permission.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LovingPlan and its operators are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the site or the providers we match you with. Our maximum aggregate liability for any direct damages is the amount you paid us, which is zero.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, where LovingPlan is incorporated. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of Delaware, except where consumer protection law in your state of residence provides otherwise.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes get a homepage notice for at least seven days and the "Last updated" date at the top of this page changes. Continued use after a change is your acceptance of the new terms.
